Why this happens
The effect depends on the Adobe plan and contract, so start with the actual account rather than a generic storage figure. A local backup lets you keep an independent copy while reviewing which paid features and cloud allowance will remain. It does not guarantee that every file can be edited with a free product afterward.
What to do
- Check the selected plan's cancellation screen for the access end date and the resulting storage allowance.
- Download important cloud files and verify the local copies open in software you will still be able to use.
- Reduce cloud usage as needed and complete cancellation only after accounting for the displayed fee and access changes.
Check the result
Keep both the cancellation record and a tested backup. A successful download and stopped renewal are separate checks; neither should be assumed from the other.
