Why this happens
Duolingo's trial offer advises canceling at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid renewal. The account or store managing the offer should show the relevant schedule. Promotional access and a renewing trial should not be treated as identical without checking the offer and payment record.
What to do
- Read the trial confirmation to identify the end date, renewal terms and seller.
- Open the original purchase platform's subscription controls early enough to complete cancellation before the stated deadline.
- Save the final confirmation and read the access end date it gives, rather than assuming every trial retains access for the same duration after cancellation.
Check the result
If the trial is not visible where expected, resolve the account or seller mismatch promptly through official help. An attempted cancellation without final confirmation should not be recorded as complete.
