The receipt's product name and billing account are therefore essential when investigating a charge that appears after canceling a personal plan. What to do
- Compare the charge receipt with the ChatGPT cancellation confirmation and determine whether it describes a subscription or API usage.
- Verify that the personal ChatGPT plan shows its intended end date in its actual purchase channel.
- If the charge is for API use, ask the authorized owner of that API billing account to review usage, invoices and the intended ongoing service separately.
Check the result
Keep the two records separate. A valid ChatGPT cancellation can coexist with legitimate API usage charges; reversing one does not automatically resolve the other.
