Patreon per-creation billing: why a final charge can follow cancellation

A final payment for earlier paid posts can differ from a new monthly renewal. Check the creator's billing model.

Why this happens

Patreon's cancellation guidance notes that per-creation billing may produce a final charge for content already published. The timing can look like a failed cancellation if you compare only the bank date. Match the payment to the creator and posts or billing period it covers before disputing the result.

What to do

  1. Open Billing history in the paying member account and identify the creator and billing model attached to the charge.
  2. Compare the payment details with the cancellation date and any earlier paid posts covered by it.
  3. Confirm the membership is no longer set to renew, then ask official support to review any amount that remains unexplained.

Check the result

Keep the history entry and cancellation confirmation together. A final pre-cancellation obligation and an unwanted new renewal are different issues and should be described accurately in a support request.
