Why this happens
Patreon can keep you connected to a creator after paid renewal stops. A visible membership entry therefore does not necessarily mean payment is still active. Check its tier, next charge information and the final cancellation result instead of using the mere presence of the creator as your test.
What to do
- Open the member profile's Settings and Memberships, then view the relevant creator's details.
- Read whether the remaining membership is free or paid and compare it with the cancellation confirmation and access end date.
- If paid renewal still appears, complete the cancellation through its final Save and continue step or ask support to clarify the state.
Check the result
Save the final result. You do not need to treat every free follow as an unpaid cancellation attempt, and leaving a free membership is a separate preference from stopping paid billing.
