Why this happens
Spotify's cancellation guidance distinguishes ordinary paid Premium from a trial that cost nothing. Paid membership normally runs to the next billing date, while cancellation of the zero-priced trial can switch the account to Free immediately. Your playlists and saved music remain, but Premium features change.
What to do
- Check the receipt or plan page to establish whether the current period is paid or a free trial.
- Read the cancellation screen for the specific end date and complete cancellation if stopping the upcoming charge is your priority.
- Reopen the plan page and verify whether the account is now Free or has a scheduled end date.
Check the result
Keep the confirmation and do not restart a trial merely to test its status. Continued playlists are not evidence that a paid subscription is still active.
