How to Cancel CodePen Subscription

Before you cancel

Export important code and assets. Review private or password-protected Pens and any live deployments before the PRO period expires.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel CodePen

Purchased directly from CodePen

  1. Sign in to CodePen and open Billing settings.
  2. Check whether you are managing personal PRO or the relevant team.
  3. Choose Cancel PRO and complete the prompts.
  4. Save confirmation and the remaining paid period’s end date.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • PRO features remain until the paid period ends. After downgrade, deployed Pens go offline, hosted assets stop resolving and password protection is removed. Editing private content can make it public.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Common questions

Does removing a team member reduce the subscription charge?

Not necessarily: team billing is based on purchased seats. Owners should review team Billing and adjust seats or cancel the team plan separately.

What should I keep after canceling?

Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
