Tilt: how to cancel

Good to know

  • Price: $8 a month, taken from your linked bank account or debit card, not through the App Store or Google Play. New members get a 14-day trial; returning members are charged right away.
  • No cancellation fee. Tilt's terms also say it waives the fee if you email help@tilt.com and ask.
  • Stopping a debit: contact Tilt at least 3 business days before the scheduled charge date.
  • Open cash advance: advances are non-recourse, so Tilt does not send you to collections. If you don't repay, Tilt may refuse future advances.
  • Coming back: you can reopen the account up to 4 times a year under More → Reopen.
  • Delete your data: email privacy@tilt.com.
  • Support: in-app chat 24/7, (888) 943-8967 Monday–Friday 8am–8pm ET, help@tilt.com.

Empower.com (formerly Personal Capital)

The Empower Personal Dashboard is free, so there is no subscription. If you want it gone:

  • Delete the dashboard: there is no delete button. Sign in, submit a support ticket and choose "Dashboard Issues".
  • Empower Personal Cash: withdraw the full balance and cancel recurring transfers, then go to Manage Account → Close Account. Download statements first; they are deleted when the dashboard closes.
  • Paid wealth management (advisory) clients: contact your advisor in the dashboard under Wealth management → Advisor to end the advisory agreement.

Common questions

Is Empower the same as Tilt?

The Empower cash-advance app is: it renamed itself Tilt in August 2025, and your old login works. Tilt says it is not affiliated with empower.com.

I deleted the Empower app but I'm still charged $8.

Deleting the app does not cancel. Reinstall Tilt, sign in with the same login and cancel under More → Billing, or contact Tilt support.

Do I have to repay my advance before cancelling?

Tilt's help pages and terms do not say repayment is required to cancel. Unpaid advances can stop you from getting new ones.
