Before you cancel
Check the email on your receipt, the plan you purchased, and the next billing or order date. Sign in to that account before making changes.

How to cancel IXL
Purchased directly from IXL
- Sign in to the parent account used for billing.
- Open the account menu at the upper right and choose Subscription details.
- Select Cancel membership.
- Follow the cancellation instructions and record the remaining paid access period.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- For automatically renewing accounts, access continues to the billing-period end. School contracts have separate term rules; this family-account route should not be applied to an institutional invoice.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Is unused time automatically refunded?
The automatic-renewal terms exclude refunds or credits for partially used membership periods.
What should I keep after canceling?
Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
