Before you cancel
Check the email on your receipt, the plan you purchased, and the next billing or order date. Sign in to that account before making changes.

How to cancel Namecheap Hosting
Purchased directly from Namecheap Hosting
- Back up websites, databases and hosted email before the plan expires.
- Open Hosting List and choose Manage for the hosting package.
- Disable the Auto-renews every month/year option.
- Save the expiry date and review domain registrations separately.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- The package is suspended and later terminated after expiry. Cancel service is a different route that can erase hosting data immediately; do not choose it unless immediate closure is intended.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Does canceling hosting cancel the domain name?
No. Namecheap explicitly separates hosting cancellation from the associated domain registration.
