Before you cancel

Export sheets and attachments, coordinate with collaborators, and check ownership and the renewal date. The cancellation flow explicitly asks you to accept data loss.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Smartsheet requests at least 30 days of notice before renewal. Editing can become restricted; use the confirmed effective date. The guide warns of deletion after cancellation takes effect.

Cancellation and refunds

Smartsheet’s cancellation guidance does not offer prorated refunds for unused time. Ask support about any disputed charge separately.

Common questions

Is Delete Account the same option?

No. Deleting an account is a separate immediate action. Use cancellation for ending the plan, and read its data consequences before accepting.

What should I keep after canceling?

Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
