How to Cancel Storytel Subscription

Cancel Storytel through the website or original mobile store. A web free trial ends immediately when cancelled.

Before you cancel

Check whether you are on paid time or a website trial, and identify the billing platform under Payments.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Storytel

Purchased directly from Storytel

  1. For a web subscription, sign in to your account and open Subscription.
  2. Choose Cancel under the current plan and confirm.
  3. Save both the website confirmation and cancellation email.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Storytel, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Storytel, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • An already-paid period remains usable until expiry. A trial started on the website ends as soon as it is cancelled. Bookshelf and listening history remain in the account.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Can I retain the rest of a web free trial after cancelling?

No. Storytel specifically says website trials end immediately.
