Before you cancel
Back up important mail and review paid bookings, custom-domain use and the Free plan’s limits before changing the subscription.
Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.
How to cancel Tuta
Purchased directly from Tuta
- Sign in to the Tuta account that owns the paid plan.
- Open Settings and Subscription.
- Choose Cancel Subscription and complete confirmation.
- Record the term end and check whether paid extras must be disabled before the Free plan can take effect.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Canceled status can still include paid access through the term end. Paid features still in use may prevent an expired plan from completing the downgrade.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.
Common questions
Can I retain the email account on Free?
The support guidance allows the main account to continue on Free after paid extras are disabled. Review your account’s feature requirements rather than deleting it to stop renewal.
What should I keep after canceling?
Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
