Why this happens
A family member may listen to Apple Music without owning the billed subscription. Apple One can also include Music as one benefit of a broader purchase. The relevant cancellation decision is therefore about the actual plan on the receipt, including the other people or services affected.
What to do
- Identify the purchasing Apple Account and open its Subscriptions list, rather than only the listener's account.
- Read whether the billed item is Apple Music Family, an individual Music plan or Apple One, and review the cancellation screen's affected benefits.
- Have the owner cancel the intended item and share the confirmed end date with anyone relying on it.
Check the result
Keep the owner's confirmation. A family member losing access or leaving a group is not proof that the paid plan itself stopped renewing.
