Why this happens
Audible distinguishes credits from a web membership from those issued through Apple or Google subscriptions. The retention rules are not interchangeable. This makes the credit review a separate step from stopping renewal, especially if your account contains credits acquired through different channels or offers.
What to do
- Open the correct Audible marketplace and inspect the available credits and membership billing provider.
- Read the cancellation warning for the credits tied to that membership and decide whether to use eligible credits before ending it.
- Complete cancellation only after reviewing that consequence, then save the final membership status and any remaining credit details.
Check the result
Do not apply app-store credit rules to web-issued credits. Purchased audiobooks and unused credits are different assets, and preserving one does not prove the other survives cancellation.
