Why this happens
The distinction is between a subscription sold inside The Roku Channel and other ways of watching Crunchyroll on a Roku device. Merely using that device does not identify the seller. A receipt naming the channel purchase is needed before choosing the management route.
What to do
- Read the receipt and establish whether Roku sold the Crunchyroll channel subscription.
- Use the purchasing Roku account's subscription-management controls to locate that exact recurring item.
- Complete its cancellation and retain the resulting end date, then check that it matches the item on the receipt.
Check the result
If the receipt instead names Crunchyroll, Apple or Google, follow that seller's route. An empty standalone Crunchyroll account cannot confirm cancellation of a contract managed by Roku.
