How to Cancel Course Hero Subscription

Stop Course Hero recurring membership in Settings, or cancel with Apple or Google if the store billed you.

Before you cancel

Start before renewal and keep the receipt. The help page mentions processing within seven business days, so verify the effective date rather than assuming an unfinished request is complete.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Course Hero

Purchased directly from Course Hero

  1. Sign in to Course Hero and open your profile picture, then Settings.
  2. Choose Stop Recurring Membership.
  3. Complete the confirmation steps on the page.
  4. Find the email confirming successful cancellation and retain it.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Course Hero, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Course Hero, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Premier access continues until the membership period expires, then the account returns to Basic.
  • Stopping membership and fully closing the account are separate actions.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.
