How to Cancel Epic Reading Subscription

Cancel Epic’s children’s reading subscription with the original billing provider. A website purchase is managed in the Parent Dashboard.

Before you cancel

Check the email on your receipt, the plan you purchased, and the next billing or order date. Sign in to that account before making changes.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Epic Reading

Purchased directly from Epic Reading

  1. For direct billing, log in to Epic from a browser and enter Parent Dashboard.
  2. Open Account Settings, then Manage Subscription beside Account Status.
  3. Under Your Subscription Plan, select Cancel Subscription.
  4. Continue past optional offers to Confirm Cancellation and save the confirmation screen.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Epic Reading, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Epic Reading, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Paid access normally remains for the period already purchased. Apple or Google Play purchases must be canceled through the store used at signup.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Common questions

Does the device my child uses determine where I cancel?

No. Epic says the original purchase channel determines cancellation, even when you read on another device. Check the receipt rather than the app currently in use.

What should I keep after canceling?

Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
