How to Cancel Fastmail Subscription
Cancel the Fastmail plan from Billing & Plan after backing up the mailbox. Immediate account deletion is a separate action.

Before you cancel
Export email, contacts and calendars and arrange replacement mail delivery. For a multi-user account, coordinate the change with everyone affected before removing users.

How to cancel Fastmail
Purchased directly from Fastmail
- Sign in and open Settings, then Billing & Plan.
- Choose Cancel plan.
- Select Learn more and cancel this plan.
- Review the consequences and choose Confirm cancellation; record the closing date.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Access continues for the remaining billing period, after which the account closes. The separate immediate-deletion option ends access sooner.

Fastmail states that unused subscription time is not refunded through cancellation.
Common questions
Why can’t I cancel a multi-user account yet?
Fastmail requires other users to be removed first. Arrange exports and a migration for every mailbox before removing users or closing the plan.
What should I keep after canceling?
Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
