Before you cancel
Back up hosted content before expiry. GoDaddy warns that a cancelled product and associated data are removed when its paid term ends.
Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.
How to cancel GoDaddy
Purchased directly from GoDaddy
- Sign in and open Renewals & Billing, then Manage Subscriptions.
- Select the product and choose Cancel Subscription.
- Complete the reason and continuation prompts.
- Review the expiry information, confirm cancellation, and save the result.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- The product continues through its remaining paid term. Check every related product independently.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.
Common questions
Why am I asked for an identity code?
Protected domains can require additional verification before cancellation.
What if Apple or Google billed the purchase?
Manage the subscription in that store using the account and product named on its receipt; the GoDaddy website route is for direct billing.
