How to Cancel Instapaper Subscription

Cancel Instapaper Premium through the website, Apple, or Google Play, according to your original purchase.

Before you cancel

Check your receipt to identify the billing channel and the next renewal date.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Instapaper

Purchased directly from Instapaper

  1. Sign in at instapaper.com and open Settings, then Premium.
  2. Select Unsubscribe and complete any confirmation.
  3. Save the resulting end date; download your latest invoice from the same page if needed.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Instapaper, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Instapaper, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Website Premium access continues through the period already purchased.

Cancellation and refunds

Instapaper says it generally grants requested refunds for web and Android purchases, sometimes prorated after substantial use. Contact support with the receipt; approval and amount are not guaranteed. Apple handles iOS purchases.

Can I get an older invoice?

Instapaper support can supply older invoices; the account page offers the latest one.

Who handles an iPhone refund?

Apple reviews App Store refunds. Instapaper cannot issue those directly.
