How to Cancel Motion Subscription

Cancel Motion from Manage Plan, or through Apple for an in-app purchase. Team billing requires administrator access.

Before you cancel

Identify whether the charge is for an individual plan, a team, or an Apple purchase. Use the account with the paid plan.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Motion

Purchased directly from Motion

  1. Sign in to app.usemotion.com on a computer and open Settings.
  2. For an individual plan, choose Manage Plan. A team admin should first open Billing, then Manage Plan.
  3. Select Cancel Plan, continue, and provide the requested reason.
  4. Finish with Cancel Subscription and save the confirmation.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Motion, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Use the confirmation to record when your paid access ends.
  • If you later use a different email to subscribe, Motion treats it as a different account without the previous account’s data.

Cancellation and refunds

Motion says cancellation does not automatically issue a refund. Its guide describes purchases as non-refundable, with discretionary review by Motion.

Can I cancel without the desktop app?

The account billing page at usemotion.com/account also provides individual subscription management.

Can a regular team member cancel the team?

Team-plan cancellation is restricted to team admins.
