How to cancel OnStar
Purchased directly from OnStar
- Sign in to My Account and select OnStar.
- Open My Plans and choose the plan you want to end.
- Review the selection and use cancel my plan, completing any confirmation.
- Alternatively, press the vehicle’s blue OnStar button or call 1-888-466-7827 and request cancellation.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Service continues through the current billing period. Save the end date and verify that any other vehicle plans have the status you intend.
Cancellation and refunds
OnStar does not offer refunds for prepaid plans or plans included in the vehicle purchase or lease. Ask the advisor to explain any other charge using your specific receipt.
Common questions
Will a prepaid vehicle plan receive a refund?
OnStar says prepaid plans and plans included with a vehicle purchase or lease are not refundable. The remaining subscription term can still be used.
What should I keep after canceling?
Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
