How to Cancel Slack Subscription
Slack has no separate Cancel button: you downgrade the workspace to the Free plan. Do it now or at renewal, but check first what the Free plan removes.

Who can cancel
Workspace Owners and the member who upgraded the workspace can change the plan. Billing contacts cannot. On Enterprise+ or another contract with a Slack account executive, contact your account executive: the agreement sets how and when you can cancel.
How to downgrade to Free
On desktop or in the browser
- Click Admin in the sidebar (or click your workspace name if Admin isn't shown).
- Choose Manage billing, open the Overview tab and click Change plan details.
- Choose Downgrade to Free and pick immediately or at the next renewal date.
- Click Continue to Checkout, then Downgrade Slack.
On a trial you may need to contact Slack to downgrade. Payment questions go to feedback@slack.com.

- Only the most recent 90 days of messages and files are visible. Data older than one year is deleted.
- Up to 10 third-party or custom app installations.
- Huddles only one-on-one in DMs.
- Guest accounts are deactivated and Slack Connect channels with other companies disconnect.
- Canvases become read-only.
Export the messages and files you need before downgrading, especially anything older than 90 days.
Refunds and credits
For plans bought on the Slack website (card or self-serve invoice), Slack's Fair Billing Policy turns unused paid time into credit. Those credits are non-transferable and non-refundable, and they expire when the paid plan ends, so downgrading does not give you cash back. Slack also credits you for members who have been inactive for 28 days.
Common questions
Can I delete the workspace instead?
Only the Primary Owner can delete a workspace (Admin → Workspace settings → Delete Workspace). It is permanent, so export your data first. Downgrading is the documented way to stop paying.
Do I keep paid features until the end of the period?
Only if you choose the downgrade at the next renewal date. An immediate downgrade switches the workspace to Free right away, and the unused time becomes credit.
How much does Slack cost?
Plans are Free, Pro, Business+ and Enterprise+. Slack raised the Business+ price from the first renewal after 17 August 2025. Prices depend on your country and on monthly or annual billing; check slack.com/pricing.
