How to Cancel SurveyMonkey Subscription
Turn off SurveyMonkey renewal by downgrading to Basic, with particular care around response limits and team accounts.

Before you cancel
Use the account owner or team Primary Admin login. Export responses before accepting deletion or feature-loss warnings. Sales-assisted and regulated accounts may require support.
Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.
How to cancel SurveyMonkey
Purchased directly from SurveyMonkey
- Open My Account, then Billing Details and Billing Profile.
- Select Manage subscription and downgrade to Basic.
- Choose a reason and read the acknowledgments about paid features and excess responses.
- Confirm the downgrade, check its date, and select Done to finish.
Billed by Apple
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Select SurveyMonkey, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
- Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.
A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.
Open provider pageMake sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Paid service ends with the current term. Team cancellation dissolves the team and returns its accounts to Basic.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Contact SurveyMonkey support if the account cannot be cancelled through billing.
Why export responses first?
The downgrade flow can include deletion warnings for responses beyond the Basic allowance.
