How to Cancel WordPress.com Subscription
Cancel each WordPress.com purchase separately. A website plan, domain, and other upgrade may renew independently.

Before you cancel
Use the account that purchased the upgrade, not just any site administrator. Back up your site and review feature-loss warnings.
Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.
How to cancel WordPress.com
Purchased directly from WordPress.com
- Open account Billing and Active upgrades.
- Select the purchase and choose Cancel at the bottom.
- Read and acknowledge the consequences, then select Cancel Subscription.
- Complete the survey and retain the expiry date. Repeat for other unwanted recurring purchases.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Cancellation stops renewal at term end. Removing a purchase is a different action and can end it immediately.
Cancellation and refunds
Check the purchase-specific refund eligibility before using Remove. Cancelling automatic renewal alone does not request a refund.
Common questions
Does cancelling the plan also cancel my domain?
Treat each purchase separately and verify its renewal setting.
What is different about Remove?
Removal can end the purchase immediately and may trigger an eligible refund; ordinary cancellation preserves the remaining term.
