Why this happens
Microsoft's direct account page cannot necessarily cancel every contract that provides Microsoft 365 benefits. The visible product and the billing agreement can have different management locations. Use the original receipt to identify the seller instead of assuming that signing into Microsoft is enough to control payment.
What to do
- Find the latest purchase receipt and identify whether Microsoft, Apple, Google or another seller billed you.
- Open that seller's subscription account using the purchasing login and inspect the matching Microsoft 365 item.
- Complete the appropriate cancellation and retain the end date, then check when Microsoft shows the benefits will expire.
Check the result
If the seller has no matching entry, ask it to locate the receipt reference. Removing Microsoft apps or changing the Microsoft password is not a substitute for canceling the seller's contract.
