Why this happens
Zoom's cancellation guidance describes permanent deletion of cloud recordings 30 days after the paid service expires. Do not use that window as the only backup plan, especially when access or account administration is changing too. A local copy should be tested before relying on it.
What to do
- Identify the paid plan's effective end date and the owner or administrator who can access cloud recordings.
- Download required recordings and related files while access is available, then verify that the saved copies open correctly.
- Finish the intended plan cancellation and keep the confirmation separately from the record of backed-up recordings.
Check the result
Do not assume canceling automatically exports data. The cancellation result proves a billing change; only checking the downloaded files establishes that the recordings you need were preserved.
