How to Cancel Adobe Acrobat Subscription

Where you cancel Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Standard depends on where you bought it: in your Adobe account for desktop and web plans, or in the app store you used on a phone or tablet. The plan type decides whether there is a fee.

The short version

Step 1: find where you bought Acrobat

Desktop or web (adobe.com): the plan appears under Plans and payment at account.adobe.com. Cancel there (route 1).
iPhone or iPad: the subscription is listed in Settings → your name → Subscriptions (route 2).
Android: bought through Google Play or the Samsung Galaxy Store. You can only cancel in the store that was used (route 3).
Work or school licence: your organisation's Adobe administrator manages it.

If the store shows no subscription, you may be signed in with a different Apple or Google account, or the plan was bought from Adobe directly.

Fees and refunds for plans bought from Adobe

Fee formula: monthly price × months left × 50%. With 4 months left on a $20/month plan, that is about $40. These are Adobe's US terms. The cancellation screen shows your exact amount before you confirm.

Step 2: cancel

Bought from Adobe (desktop or web)

Sign in at account.adobe.com.
In Plans and payment, select Manage plan next to your Acrobat plan.
Select Cancel your plan, check the details, and select Continue to cancel. Any fee or refund is shown here.
Choose a reason, select Continue, then Confirm cancellation. You can decline any offers along the way.
Keep the confirmation email.

If you have other Adobe plans (for example Creative Cloud), they are cancelled separately. While a payment is processing or has failed, the Cancel option is unavailable; wait 24 hours.

Bought on iPhone or iPad

In Acrobat, tap your profile icon → Subscriptions → Manage subscriptions, or open Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Select Acrobat and tap Cancel Subscription.

Refunds for App Store purchases come from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com), not from Adobe.

Apple: cancel a subscription

Bought on Android (Google Play or Galaxy Store)

In Acrobat, tap your profile icon → Subscriptions → Manage subscriptions, and follow the store's steps.
Or open Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Acrobat → Cancel subscription. Galaxy Store purchases are cancelled in the Galaxy Store app.

Adobe's refund rules for mobile purchases: cancel in the store within 48 hours of the payment for a full refund. Between 48 hours and 14 days after the first payment, contact Adobe Support. After 14 days, no refund is available.

Google Play: cancel a subscription

What happens after you cancel

Paid Acrobat features keep working until the end of the billing period. Your Adobe account stays active as a free membership.
You can keep using free Acrobat Reader to open, view, comment on and sign PDFs. Editing, converting and other Pro or Standard tools stop.
Adobe cloud storage drops to 5 GB. If you use more, you have 30 days to reduce it before you may lose access to stored files. Download your PDFs first.
Changed your mind before the period ends? Reactivate the plan from your Adobe account.

Common questions

Does uninstalling Acrobat stop the payments?

No. Only cancelling in your Adobe account or in the app store you bought it from stops billing.

How do I avoid the Acrobat cancellation fee?

Cancel within 14 days of buying, or choose a month-to-month plan. On an annual plan paid monthly the fee is half of the remaining months, so it gets smaller towards the end of the contract.

I cancelled Acrobat but still have an Adobe charge.

It may be the final charge for the current period, or another Adobe plan. Each plan is cancelled separately; check Plans and payment for anything still active.
