How to Cancel Buffer Subscription

Cancel Buffer through the account owner’s billing page, reviewing which connected channels will remain active on Free.

Before you cancel

Use the owner login and decide which three channels to keep if you currently have more than the Free allowance.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Buffer

Purchased directly from Buffer

  1. Open your avatar menu and Billing.
  2. Use the three-dot menu and select Cancel Plan.
  3. Review the channels that will lock, complete the survey, and continue past the activity recap.
  4. Finish the final confirmation and save the cancellation date.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Buffer, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Buffer, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Paid access runs to term end. Excess channels remain connected but become locked after the downgrade.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Can a team member cancel the plan?

Only the account owner can access these billing controls.

Can I reverse cancellation before expiry?

Buffer allows reinstating the plan before its scheduled cancellation date.
