How to cancel Consumer Reports
Purchased directly from Consumer Reports
- Sign in to the account associated with your receipt.
- For a digital paid membership, open Account Settings and select cancel membership.
- For a print subscription, use Print members sign in here in Account Settings to reach its separate management area.
- Complete the relevant cancellation and save the resulting end date.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Annual digital benefits generally last through the current membership year. Print and third-party subscriptions have their own rules; verify the exact product on your bill.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.
Common questions
Do print and digital memberships use identical controls?
No. The user agreement distinguishes annual, monthly, print and third-party paid services. Use the section corresponding to your purchase.
What should I keep after canceling?
Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
