How to Cancel Memrise Subscription

Stop Memrise renewal in account settings or the app store used at purchase. Check whether your purchase is recurring or a one-time Lifetime plan.

Before you cancel

Find the receipt, original account, and plan duration. A Lifetime purchase is not the same as an automatically renewing monthly or annual plan.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Memrise

Purchased directly from Memrise

  1. Sign in on the Memrise website and open your profile settings.
  2. Select Account and review the plan and expiry date.
  3. Choose Cancel Plan, complete confirmation, and verify the resulting renewal status.
  4. If account settings direct you to a billing provider, finish the process there.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Memrise, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Memrise, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Memrise’s payment guidance says paid features remain until the membership period ends.
  • Deleting the account does not replace cancellation of an active subscription.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Common questions

Do I need to cancel Lifetime renewal?

A one-time Lifetime purchase does not have the recurring renewal described for time-based plans.

Where do I check the end date?

Open the Account tab in your profile settings, or the original app store for a store purchase.
