Before you cancel

Back up original audio and video first. Sonix warns that media is permanently compressed after the subscription ends without a storage plan.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Sonix

Purchased directly from Sonix

  1. Open your Sonix account settings and My Account.
  2. Under Billing & Usage, select Cancel Subscription.
  3. Choose cancellation; the alternative Storage Plan is still a paid service.
  4. Finish the prompts and save the end date and remaining plan status.
Open provider page

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Access continues until term end. Existing transcripts remain accessible, but new uploads are disabled. Compressed originals cannot be restored.

Cancellation and refunds

Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.

Common questions

Will I lose my transcripts?

The cancellation guide says existing transcripts remain accessible.

Does keeping originals mean keeping a paid plan?

Sonix offers a separate paid Storage Plan. Choose it only if you want its ongoing storage charge.
