How to Cancel Otter.ai Subscription

Cancel an Otter Pro or Business subscription from Billing as the owner or administrator, or through the store that billed you.

Before you cancel

Otter recommends canceling at least 24 hours before the next billing date. Export important transcripts before your workspace returns to Basic limits.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Otter.ai

Purchased directly from Otter.ai

  1. Sign in as the workspace owner or administrator.
  2. Open Account Settings (Integrations), then Billing, then Cancel plan.
  3. Choose a reason, continue, and select Cancel subscription in the final dialog.
  4. Check that the subscription is scheduled to expire.

Billed by Apple

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Otter.ai, choose Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial, and finish confirmation.
  3. Record the expiry date shown for the Apple Account on your receipt.

A purchase made with Apple Pay on a website is not necessarily an App Store subscription. Match the receipt before choosing this route.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play with the Google account used for payment. Go to Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  2. Select Otter.ai, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the remaining prompts.
  3. Reopen the subscription and save its resulting status and end date.

If the subscription is missing, check other Google accounts and the purchase receipt. Installing an Android app does not establish who bills it.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Paid features continue through the current billing period.
  • The workspace then uses the Basic plan and its limits; cancellation does not delete the account.

Cancellation and refunds

Otter describes subscriptions as non-refundable under its terms. Store purchases follow the respective Apple or Google billing and refund process.

Common questions

Can any workspace member cancel?

Otter restricts cancellation to the owner or administrators.

Is Pause Plan the same as canceling?

No. If you want renewal stopped, finish the cancellation path instead of accepting a temporary pause.
