Before you cancel
Check the email on your receipt, the plan you purchased, and the next billing or order date. Sign in to that account before making changes.
Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.
How to cancel Treehouse
Purchased directly from Treehouse
- Sign in to the Treehouse account connected to your receipt.
- Open the down arrow beside the profile picture and select Subscription.
- Scroll to the bottom and choose Cancel Subscription.
- Complete the confirmation and save the end date; contact help@teamtreehouse.com if the controls are unavailable.
Make sure renewal has stopped
Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.
If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.
What happens after cancellation?
- Check the plan shown in the account before confirming. Account Settings and Enrollment can also show billing and plan-management information.
Cancellation and refunds
Stopping renewal does not automatically reverse an earlier charge. If you want a payment reviewed, contact the billing provider using the receipt and cancellation confirmation. Ask which refund terms apply to that purchase.
Common questions
Why are both Pause and Cancel shown?
Treehouse offers them as distinct actions. Choose Cancel Subscription when you intend to end recurring membership rather than take a temporary break.
What should I keep after canceling?
Save the final confirmation, the effective date and any remaining order or term details. If another charge appears, compare it with this record and ask the provider to explain it.
