How to Cancel Perplexity Subscription

End a Perplexity paid subscription from its billing settings or the app store used to purchase it. Deleting the Perplexity account does not cancel billing.

Before you cancel

Locate the purchase receipt and note whether it is monthly or annual. A promotional offer still needs its renewal settings checked.

Match the account email, plan and billing provider to your latest receipt. Choose the route below that matches that purchase.

How to cancel Perplexity

Paid on the Perplexity website

  1. Sign in and find Subscription in Settings.
  2. Open Manage Subscription to reach the current plan.
  3. Select Cancel subscription, finish confirmation, and revisit billing to verify the scheduled end.

Billed by Apple

  1. Open the Apple subscriptions list for the Apple Account on your receipt and select Perplexity.
  2. Choose the cancellation option, complete confirmation, and record the expiry date.

Use this route only when Apple billed the purchase. A website payment made on an iPhone is not necessarily an App Store subscription.

Billed by Google Play

  1. Open Google Play subscriptions using the Google account on your receipt and select Perplexity.
  2. Complete cancellation and check the resulting subscription status.

If the plan is missing, compare the receipt with your other Google accounts before trying a different billing route.

Make sure renewal has stopped

Return to billing after the last confirmation screen. Save the canceled status or scheduled end date, plus any confirmation email. A support request awaiting a reply is not the same as a completed cancellation.

If another charge appears, compare its payment date, account and plan with that record. Contact the billing provider with the relevant receipt and confirmation.

What happens after cancellation?

  • Your account moves back to the free version after the paid cycle finishes.
  • Keep the account available until you have checked the cancellation.

Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation stops renewal; it does not by itself return a previous payment. Ask the company that billed you to review the charge and provide its current refund terms.

Common questions

Can I stop charges by deleting my account?

No. Perplexity explicitly instructs users to cancel their subscription separately.

What if another charge appears?

Recheck the billing account and confirmation, then use Help → Contact Support with the relevant invoice.
